Scottish Opera Emerging Artist...

Shuna has been announced as The John Mather Charitable Trust Emerging Artist in Scottish Opera's 2011-12 Emerging Artists programme.

BBC Radio 2 Royal Wedding coverage.

Shuna is excited to announce that she will be performing Gounod's Ave Maria live at St. James' Park for the BBC Radio 2 Chris Evans Breakfast Show as part of their coverage of the Royal Wedding celebrations.

Live event/outside broadcast. Bank Holiday Friday 29 April. 8.00-10.30am BBC RADIO 2.

BBC Radio 3 Big Red Nose Show...!

Shuna is delighted to be performing in the BBC Radio 3 Big Red Nose Show at The Royal Albert Hall on Monday 14th March 2011 which promises to be a night of both classical music and comedy.

The evening's line up includes violinist Nicola Benedetti, cellist Julian Lloyd Webber, and comedians Tim Vine and Marcus Brigstocke, and the evening will be hosted by BBC Radio 3 presenter Katie Derham with help from her mischievous fox sidekick, Basil Brush.

Shuna will be performing 'Let the Bright Seraphim' from Handel's oratorio 'Samson' before joining in with the attempt to break the official Guinness World Record for largest Kazoo ensemble lead by kazoo group Masters Of The Kazooniverse.

Tickets are available for the event from the Royal Albert Hall box office, with 95% of the ticket purchase price going to Comic Relief.

If you can't attend on the evening, the event will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 at 7pm on Friday 18th March.

Proms in the Park ...!

On Saturday 11th September 2010, Shuna performed 'Dich Teure Halle' from Wagner's Tannhäuser live to 40,000 prommers at BBC Proms In The Park in London's Hyde Park. This was followed by a performance of 'Tonight' from West Side Story alongside Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and José Carreras.

The BBC TV broadcast of 'Proms in the Park' can be viewed on iPlayer here, or can be heard from the BBC Radio 2 broadcast here. Both are available until Saturday 18th September 2010.

Kiri Prize Winner...!

Shuna has been announced as the winner of the first BBC Radio 2 Kiri Prize competition. For her winning performance, Shuna performed 'Dich Teure Halle' from Wagner's Tannhäuser followed by 'Morrò, ma prima in grazia' from Verdi’s 'Un Ballo in Maschera'.

The broadcast of the final can be heard on 'Friday Night is Music Night' on the BBC iPlayer until 8pm Friday 10th September 2010. There is also a short interview with Shuna, conducted before her semi-final round on the BBC website

Shuna will perform live on stage with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa in front of 40,000 'prommers' at BBC Proms In The Park in London's Hyde Park on Saturday 11 September 2010 and will attend a three-week residential course at the Solti Te Kanawa Accademia in Italy.
